The Zagora Desert is much more arid and rocky with fewer and smaller dunes than Merzouga, but it’s closer to Marrakech. It is a recommended option for travelers who want to enjoy a night in tents but don’t have enough time to travel to Merzouga. For the rest, our 3-day Merzouga excursion is strongly recommended. Then, we take a camel ride in the desert of Zagora.
Return to the accommodations. Dinner.
On the second day, on the way back to Marrakech, we cross the High Atlas along one of the highest roads in all of Morocco, crossing the Tichka Pass and see the beauty of typical Berber villages.
The Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, considered the adobe fortress in the best state of conservation in all Morocco and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO is a must-see. We also visit the Oulad Othmane Kasbah, located in the Draa Valley. In addition, at the end we take a brief tour of the valley.
