>> Daily departures <<
Arrival at the Marrakech airport (flight arranged by the traveler), private pick-up and transfer to our accommodations.
Breakfast. Beginning of the visit to Marrakech, starting with the Gueliz neighborhood. There we discover the Majorelle Gardens, originally conceived as a private space by the painter whom it’s named for, and then opened to the public and finally acquired by the famous designer Saint Laurent. Subsequently, we visit the Menara Gardens, a place popular among locals to enjoy a relaxing walk.
After gazing at the exterior of the Koutoubia Mosque, we reach the semi-old part of the city. We visit the Ben Youssef Madrasa, an ancient Islamic school where elegance and attention to detail go hand in hand.
Then we take a walking tour through the medina, the old part of the city. We see firsthand the different neighborhoods of artisans, as well as the souks and markets that the medina houses. We also visit the Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the main focus of the city and where acrobats, storytellers, juice vendors, musicians and other merchants and artists transform this space into a living spectacle.
Return to our accommodations.
Breakfast. Pick up at 8:30am and transfer to the Ouzoud Waterfalls (journey time approximately 3 hours). Once there, there is a meeting with a mountain guide, who accompanies us throughout a complete tour of the waterfalls.
Located in the Middle Atlas Mountains, these majestic 110 meter waterfalls are a place of great natural beauty with their the peculiar rock formations that surround it. Upon reaching the lowest area, we ride a boat on the lake below the falls.
Free time for lunch (not included). Meet-up and head back to Marrakech.
Breakfast. Free day with the possibility of optional excursions (see here the excursions available from Marrakech).
Breakfast and head to the Dadès Gorges. This drive along one of the highest highways in North Africa features the breath-taking scenery of the Atlas Mountains and takes to the Tizi N’Tichka Pass.
Next stop: the fortified town of Aït Benhaddou declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. We have lunch with one of the most iconic places in Morocco as our backdrop.
Next, we explore the patchwork of villages, gardens and olive groves around the Skoura Palm Grove. Here we visit the well-preserved Kasbah Amridil, where ancient tools of daily life dating back hundreds of centuries are on display. Then, we head to the Dadès Gorges, a group of rugged rock formations and ravines.
Arrival at our accommodations. Dinner included.
Breakfast and outing to the desert of Erg Chebbi. On the way we pass by the ruggedly beautiful landscapes of Palmeral and the Todgha Gorges, a favorite of rock climbers.
Next, we arrive at Erfoud, and if time permits, we enjoy a beautiful sunset in the high desert. Head to Merzouga.
Camel ride to the air-conditioned tent camp in Erg Chebbi, where our luggage has been transported in a 4×4 vehicle. We enjoy a starry night and an authentic Berber dinner.
Early risers can enjoy the desert sunrise. After breakfast we head back to the vehicle.
Departure to the oldest of the imperial cities passing through Rissani, former merchant stop on the trans-Saharan routes and today known for being one of the most popular traditional markets in the country. The next stop is Ifrane, also known as the Moroccan Switzerland because of its Alpine aesthetic.
Head to Fez. Dinner included.
Breakfast. Today we see the oldest of the imperial cities, starting with a panoramic visit from the lookout, where we see both the modern and the old city. We continue visiting the modern area, appreciating places such as the gates of the Royal Palace, the Bab Jeloud or the Jewish Quarter.
Once the contemporary zone is finished, we walk the medina of Fez on foot, like a journey through time. We see the ancient Bou Inania Madrasa, as well as the districts of the different artisans: goldsmiths, carpenters, loom workers, ending in the famous tanneries.
