Day trip to Aït Ben Haddou from Marrakech
Pick up at your accommodations in Marrakech at 7:00 AM.
Crossing the High Atlas Mountains we arrive, approximately 4 hours later, at the Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, the scene of famous films (Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile and The Mummy, among others).
After visiting the ksar we continue to Ouarzazate, the gateway of the desert, where the Kasbah of Taourit is located. We take the opportunity to visit its interior accompanied by a local guide.
Afterwards, we make an additional stop at the Kasbah Telouet, where we find the Glaoui Palace and in which its exterior, in a nearly dilapidated state, contrasts with the richness of its interior decoration, similar to that of the Alhambra in Granada.
Finally, transfer back to Marrakech, we get dropped off at the door of our accommodations at approximately 7:00pm. End of our services.
Please don’t hesitate to inquire about any adjustment you want to make to this itinerary.
You can also add an extra day to this trip. Here’s the upside if you do:
More relaxed trip (keep in mind that if you do it in one day it would involve around 4 hours of driving there and 4 hours back).
A more scenic and complete route, visiting places that are not possible in a single day due to lack of time, such as the Fint Oasis.
Free afternoon in Aït Ben Haddou, with the possibility of an activity, such as a quad ride or horseback riding (optional).
The night could be spent in a 400-year-old kasbah within the walls of Aït Ben Haddou. A candlelit evening will make the journey back in time even more real since there is no electricity within the kasbah.
The cost varies based on how many people are in your party (prices below are per person for a double room):
